"Windows HPC Server 2008 --- A Developer's Perspective"
Iowa Code Camp, 8 November 2008
(1) "Multi-threading for Performance --- a move to HPC"
(2) "High-Performance Computing with Windows HPC Server 2008"
Windows HPC Server 2008 Tutorials (developed in conjuction with Microsoft)
(1) "Classic HPC Development using Visual C++"
- This tutorial presents a classic HPC development scenario — data parallelism in the context of image processing. Written for the C
and C++ developer, this tutorial walks you through the steps of designing, writing, debugging and profiling a parallel application for
Windows HPC Server 2008. Along the way, you'll work with a number of HPC technologies, including OpenMP, MPI, ETW, and HPC Server 2008.
When you complete the tutorial, you’ll have the skills and expertise necessary to deliver high-performance,
cluster-wide applications for Windows HPC Server 2008.

(2) "Sequential to Parallel HPC Development"
- This tutorial presents a common HPC development scenario — the sequential developer looking to take advantage of parallel processing.
Written for the C++ or C# developer, this tutorial walks you through of steps of taking a sequential, GUI-based scientific application
and parallelizing this app to run on both multi-core and cluster-based hardware. Along the way, you'll learn how to design and implement
parallel applications, using a variety of technologies including OpenMP, PFx, WCF, and HPC Server 2008. After completing the tutorial,
you’ll have the skills and expertise necessary to start developing high-performance applications for Windows and HPC Server 2008.
